Advantages of IPv6

IPv6 can be employed to identify devices across the internet so they can be located. Besides, IPv6 is the latest version of the Internet protocol.
Here are some benefits of IPv6:

More Efficient Routing

  • With IPv6, the size of routing tables can be reduced and makes routing becomes more efficient and hierarchical. Moreover, in IPv6 network, fragmentation is handled by the source of devices instead of a router through using a protocol for discovery of the path's maximum transmission unit (MTU).

Directed Data Flows

  • IPv6 supports multicast instead of broadcast. Multicast enables bandwidth-intensive packet flows to be sent to multiple destinations simultaneously, saving network bandwidth.

  • IPSec security also provides authentication, confidentiality, and data integrity is engraved into IPv6.
